Horses

I made my love for horses apparent as soon as I could speak.  My family nurtured this love with riding lessons from the age of 5, and I devoured every horse care book I could get my hands on.

I got my 1st horse as a teen after saving my babysitting money for several years.  I was blessed to be able to compete in 3 equine knowledge competitions in 4-H - Horse Judging, Horse Bowl, and Hippology that equipped me to choose the right horse for me and care for her the best I could.

My life has been touched by many horses worth their weight in gold.  My current equine companion is a Shetland pony/miniature horse cross named Thunder.

Thunder

Thunder has earned the nickname "Circus Pony" for his knack at picking up tricks.  He loves to show off his smarts for a cookie.  So far, he can bow, lay down, smile, stretch, dance, and spin both directions around a pedestal.  He also loves to lunge, jump, and ground drive.  He's one smart cookie!

Barn Cats

These boys have a really important job - rodent patrol.  They keep mice and rats from getting into feed.  They're all neutered males, so I don't have to worry about having kittens to rehome, spraying, or them getting territorial. I often find them curled up together asleep after a long night of hunting.  The rodent patrol squad definitely earns their kibble!

Heathcliff

Heath is my oldest barn cat.  He's a year older than Gatsby and loves to pounce on moles!

Gatsby

This petite boy is often found following his big brother around and pouncing on his tail.  He definitely has energy to burn!

Crookshanks

Crooks is the youngest boy, and friendliest.  He loves to get carried around and snuggled while I work on chores.

Chickens

Growing up, my mother told me over her dead body was I going to have chickens, so you know she really loves me when she and Dad built me a huge 12'x12', 3 room chicken palace for my chooks!

I keep a small flock of about a dozen chickens who free range my property.  They're treasured pets with names and I enjoy watching them roam and scratch.

Watch my Facebook page for availability of hatching eggs, eating eggs, and straight run chicks!

Cochins

My current 6 Cochins were purchased from Six Feathers Farm in Michigan.  Though my roosters are large, they are friendly and docile.   The hens are sweet and not easily startled, making them an ideal pet.

Frizzles

Since I was doing the chicken thing again, I was happy to welcome a blue paint frizzled satin and a chocolate paint frizzled silkie hen to the flock.  I love their goofy feathers!

The 2022 additions

In 2022, Junior kept trying to hide her eggs and raise a clutch, but they'd rot before she had enough to set on, so I caved and got her these 8 chicks to mother.

Silkies

These gals make the best incubators.  They're always broody and sometimes sit on the nest even if there's nothing in it!  They're also very sweet, curious, and friendly.

Rabbits

I bred and showed both Flemish Giants and Velveteen Lops in the ARBA but decided to get out of showing and breeding to pursue my dogs and soap business more seriously.  Today, just 4 rabbits remain here on the farm.

TH207

TH207 was purchased from Truckly's Hip Hop Rabbitry for my breeding program and was just so sweet he had to stay!

Albus Dumbledore

Albus is a home-bred from my white eared Velveteen lop project.  He's several generations in and I'm so proud of the progress my project made!

Nymphadora Tonks

This girl is Abus' son and Cedric's littermate.  She didn't find a home quickly enough and I got too attached so she's here to stay!

Emma

Emma is a Netherland Dwarf.  She may be small, but she's full of spice!
