Icelandic Sheepdogs

Why a Lyndiana Acres Icelandic?

My breeding goals are to produce puppies  that are free from inherited diseases with great conformation, longevity, and personalities.  My dogs may strut their stuff in the show ring, but at the end of the day, they are an irreplaceable part of my family and I want your family to have that great experience of being "owned" by an Icelandic Sheepdog.

When you welcome a Lyndiana Acres Icelandic Sheepdog into your family, you're getting a beautiful dog from health tested parents with hips that are OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) certified and eyes that are certified "free of disease".  This means that your pup has the best chance I can give them to avoid developing hip dysplasia or eye issues such as cataracts and glaucoma as they age.

I pair my females with studs owned by other individuals who show Icelandic Sheepdogs in order to better meet the AKC breed standard, so that you will get that beautiful, spitz-type dog that you love.  A dog that's bred to work and has the happy, inquisitive, eager to please personality that has endeared them to their owners for ages. A dog that should be part of your family for the next 12+ years.

Your puppy will be raised in my home as part of my family until it moves to yours.  For the entirety of your dog's life, I am here to provide advice and answer any questions you may have.  Should the pup ever need to be rehomed, it is always welcomed back here.

My Icelandic Journey

My journey in showing dogs started over 20 years ago, at the age of 9 in the Chautauqua County 4-H program.  I fell in love with the different breeds and knew I wanted to continue showing in the AKC after I completed my 4-H tenure.

In 2014, my journey with Icelandics began.  I had researched the breed and knew it was just what I was looking for: a small, durable, intelligent, biddable dog with a sunny, friendly personality.  I was put in touch with a breeder, Mike Merrell, who allowed me to add Elsa (Honey Run's Orange Blossom) into my family.  She became my constant companion and farm side kick.

In 2018, I bred her to Saman's Torin and was blessed with 5 beautiful puppies.  I retained Eleanor (Lyndiana Bright Orange) as a show prospect from that litter.

I was devastated to lose Elsa in an accident in May of 2019.  Elsa lives on through her pups.  I enjoy getting updates and having the opportunity to see them grow up in their new homes.  As one of the boys was adopted by my parents, we have frequent puppy reunions.

Eleanor is just as friendly and bright as her mom and is a rockstar in the show ring.  She earned her Grand Championship in less than a year of showing and is enjoying "retirement" at home as a companion and trying her "paw" at performance sports.  She earned her Canine Good Citizen Certification and has been training for her Rally Novice debut in 2023.

In 2020, I had the opportunity to own another of Elsa's pups, Meeka (Lyndiana Bright Lemon Blossom).  She is not strong in conformation, but is a joy to train with at my local training club. She has completed Beginner and Advanced obedience classes, Rally Novice and Rally Advanced training classes, and earned her CGC.

In 2023, I had the opportunity to breed Eleanor to a stud I've admired for years and we welcomed a litter of 2.  I chose to retain Hilde (Lyndiana Orange You Glad) as a performance prospect.  She loves to work, whether it be Obedience, Rally Obedience, or FAST Cat.

I couldn't close out this section without mentioning the Golden Retriever you'll see in many of the photos.  Mildred is everyone's best friend and favorite playmate.
